Welcome to the Local Cultural Council (LCC) Basics Training!

This course is designed to:

  • Present the fundamental information you need to know for volunteering on an LCC.
  • Teach the basics to new LCC members.
  • Serve as a resource and refresher for more experienced members.

In order to be an effective LCC member, it is important that you have an understanding of the roles LCCs play in their communities and with Mass Cultural Council. Knowing the requirements and processes used to administer the grant cycle are also critically important, as distributing grants is the core activity of an LCC. This course will cover these topics. It will also help you articulate the role that the arts, sciences, and humanities play in your community.

Each lesson contains a short Knowledge Check to gauge your understanding of the material. You are not being scored, you cannot fail.
